From pessimist to optimist

In the midst of all the things that are going wrong in the world...

it’s difficult to keep from getting swallowed up in despair. Hope and optimism can spur creative work that will support positive change in the world (or at least positive change in our world).

  • Let’s recognize that big change is happening in our world and the only way to survive is to have hope.
  • Let’s challenge our assumptions about who we really are, and why we are here.
  • Let’s use the power of our social networks to make small and big changes!
How? During face-to-face meetings, let’s:
  1. Watch an inspiring “big picture” documentary or film and talk about it after.
  2. Take turns facilitating big thinking.
  3. Go out and practice positivity through meditation, dancing, hiking…
  4. Share information and tools.
  5. Support each other in practicing a new way of viewing our world.
  6. Co-create what we want!
Instead of being forcefully Pollyanna-ish, let’s critically consider our world personally and globally and make choices that will contribute to change. This isn’t a therapy group but that doesn’t mean it can’t support health!
